Toasting Agency, Casco, Kurimanzutto, Nomadsinresidence, Objectif, SwitchspaceOn several occasions in recent months, W139 announced the start of the renovation of the Warmoesstraat 139 building. We also announced the final exhibition in the W139 headquarters and the its subsequent evacuation a few times.Up till now these announcements proved premature. This is why W139 is proud to announce that the doors of the exhibition space will finally close in November 2003.
The Warmoesstraat building will remain closed to the public throughout 2004. In the meantime several projects will take place in other locations in Amsterdam.
I. The series of lectures Sans Abri starts on the 30th of September and encompasses six presentations from Dutch and foreign institutions who work without a fixed 'physical' space. A selection of Mexican, French, Belgian and Dutch artists' and curatorial collectives, whose practice relates to concepts such as transformation, movement and flux, will talk about their ideas and working procedures.
Each presentation has a distinctive shape and form, but all of them will be taking place on the round-trip boats of Rederij Kooij, situated across the road from Rokin 112. Time of departure is 7 pm sharp and participants are requested to pay 5 euro per evening, 20 euro for a passe-partout.
