Lecture Emory Douglas
Designer Black Panthers on Design and Politics
Douglas, the Black Panther Party's revolutionary artist and Minister of Culture, created the overall design of its weekly newspaper, The Black Panther, and oversaw its layout and production. His powerful visual language made an important contribution to the party's efforts to emancipate the black community in the United States in the 1960s and 1970s. He will talk about his work and how political and social commitment has influenced his work throughout the years.
