Een tentoonstelling die me aansprak maar niet begrijp

Met 2.500 bezoekers in de eerste 4 weken is de groepstentoonstelling Cantus Firmus, die startte vanuit een videowerk van Christophe Meierhans, succesvol te noemen met betrekking tot de kwantiteit. De reacties over de kwaliteit zijn overwegend enthousiast. Maar - Waarom?

Op zaterdag 26 mei vanaf 5 uur, zullen Christophe Meierhans, W139's artistiek directeur Tim Voss en een aantal van de deelnemende kunstenaars proberen de ontwikkeling van Cantus Firmus te volgen en de achterliggende ambitie te relateren aan de nu zichtbare uitkomst. Alex Arteaga, kunstenaar en fenomenoloog uit Berlijn, zal zijn lezing van de tentoonstelling vertellen en start een discussie over kunst, container-metaforen en de productie van betekenis.

Alex Arteaga

Alex Arteaga (Barcelona, 1969) is a researcher in the fields of aesthetic practice and embodiment theories. He develops his research through his artistic practice and philosophical inquiring as head of the Auditory Architecture Research Unit and visiting professor at the Master Sound Studies (Berlin University of the Arts), as academic researcher at the Collegium for the Advanced Study of Picture Act and Embodiment (Humboldt University Berlin). He studied piano, music theory, electronic music and architecture in Barcelona and Berlin. He obtains a PhD at the Institute of Philosophy of the Humboldt University Berlin with his dissertation “Sensuous framing. Principles of a strategy to realize conditions of perception”.
