Sonic Encounters

Sagi Kroner, Boris van Nes

In the front exhibition hall, we witness the sonic encounter of 2 young artists who graduated some time ago. Their exhibit is a literal confrontation between the slightly undermining sculptures they produce and multi-media installations.

Groner has included an independent, solar-powered radio station in his piece, which fires sonic messages into the ether. These are then received by radio sculptures with horns made from hard plastic. The projected image of a Bedouin-type figure in the desert broadcasting (or receiving?) sounds, completes the idea of global ether.
