ROAD MOVIE FILM FESTIVAL

Gedurende 'On Fresh Soil' wordt elke donderdag avond een road movie getoond. Daarnaast wordt er soep geserveerd vanaf 6 uur, en kunnen er performances plaatsvinden.

This is a road movie on wheelchairs.

A rare combination of tragic drama and black humor, this highly politically incorrect film from Belgium is a real gem from start to finish. The story starts in a rural area south of Brussels, where two neighbours are very unhappy with their lives but most off all, the two men work on each others nerves. But then there is a sudden accident and the two men wake up in a hospital next to each other.... and end up on a journey in wheelchairs across Europe to their destination which is Finland.
Due to the almost universal belief in the goodness of disabled people, Gus and Ben are able to shamelessly take advantage of everyone they encounter. The fact is that the two men aren't in the least sympathetic- they are actually malevolent hostile bastards, pissed off at the world because of their situation.

As Donderdag 18 juli, draaien we Old Joy van Kelly Reichardt.er zijn ook burgers van de barbecue vooraf and Yo La Tengo feature als de soundtrack van deze zomerse avond.

Afgelopen weekend is op Roskilde Festival in Denemarken deel twee van Creeping Death - 7 Square Metres onthuld. Karl Philips maakt werk rond het hacken van de (semi)publieke ruimte waarbij hij constant de regels van het ene gebuikt om die van iets anders te buigen. Zo bouwde hij objecten die zich als parasieten nestelen aan reclames en zich mengen in het straatbeeld alsof ze daar thuishoren. Hij studeerde af met een loft van 6 caravans dat zich elke dag een parkeervak verplaatst om aan de parkeer regels te voldoen. Ook toerde hij een half jaar met een serie mobiele woningen in reclameborden, waarvan de bewoners betaald werden door de reclame inkomsten. Website

In W139 presenteert hij voor het eerst een drie jaar lang geheim project waarin hij de grenzen van beveiliging, beeld-, pop- & actie-cultuur en kunst mengt om een popfestival te hacken.

'We wouden letterlijk 'Underground' gaan door een complete caravan te begraven onder de festival weide.'

Donderdag, 4 juli, wordt gehost door Elke Baggen & Susan Kooi. Er is die avond een performance van Lukas Hoffman en de film van deze avond is March of the Penguins van Luc Jacquet.
En er is natuurlijk weer iets te eten vooraf.

21 June
'Pitching the groepsexpositie' en wordt gehost door Jabu Arnell. van 19.00 till 20.00 zijn videowerken'(The) Pitch' en 'The other side of the VT/Karaoke' . en om 20.15 'L'Atalante' van Jean Vigo Eten is klaar om 18.00 and Jabu zelf maakt chocolade cake.
